Something simple ... a kennel for the pooch. Currently she lives in one of those large two piece plastic moulded things that we keep under a rear covered paved area. Holly is a labrador and dropping hair is a major issue with her, so I suggested I build a nice kennel for her, insulated and weather proof and place it in a shady spot in the garden under the trees. What was going to be a simple affair is now growing into a major build ... floor insulation, front covered verandah with a "naughty gate", flush mounted water bowl, winter door flaps (thinking perspex on some light two way hinges that can be pinned open). There's a couple of things I need to finish before I start this ... plenty of time for constructive or crazy suggestions

Sounds like it will swallow up a lot of your spare time. What is your major concern ? Here it would be wind & rain. I presume heat will be an issue where you are.

The tools in my truck were talking the other day. The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy. They also were in the minority. Their complaint: They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in. I guess the truth hurts.

Kev, Here is a link for you. Guy's doghouse is also in this link: Luxury Dog HousesPeter Every one of those are better than the shack my wife and I live in! Found a story about a woman having a have million dollar resort style kennel built - complete with retina scanner security so other dogs could get in. The K9 has morphed from man's best friend to woman's fashion accessory

Here's what I (finally) built for our "Bear" over Christmas. When the doggie door is unblocked, he has the "worlds largest" doghouse. I even put a small shrub in there for him to "water" when he needs to. I just have to remember to not leave little wood scraps lying around that he likes to chew on:

Weather front from Russia came to Finland this weekened, -25 Celsius degrees today. It can get a lot colder than that in Russia however, depending on the place - whereabouts in Russia do you rule Rembo?
