I was just wondering what projects were on all your minds. Anything unique or unusual? I'm back on a jewelry box but it'll probably be months before it's done.

I want to make a sofa table. I am working on my carving skills because I want the front and sides to be carved and look like a drape of fabric. It is a ways off but I definately look forward to doing it.
I always enjoy looking at your projects please keep posting them.

My next project is to build bookshelves, cabinets, and an aquarium stand for our living room to match the tv stand I built at Thanksgiving. Paduak and plexiglass. Collecting thewood now. Deal with the wife is that I actually start it and complete it - then a kapex will find its way into the collection.

The tools in my truck were talking the other day. The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy. They also were in the minority. Their complaint: They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in. I guess the truth hurts.

We just started a new project: building a 15 drawer side board. Just bought the Poplar (will be painted) and am gluing up for panels now. Tomorrow will use Domino tenons and pocket holes. First time doing this. will be fun to see. Have the Woodhaven jig for the Domino-- havent used it yet but will see how well it works

Thanks JJ. I'll be happy to. I don't know if this will help but DIY has been running a show dedicated to carving. I've only caught it a couple times but it seems very informative. They do a project from beginning to end.

I'm about to tackle a series of bookcases(full wall 10 ft high by 12 ft wide) for the home office. It will include a rolling ladder (hardware to be ordered from Putnam Rolling Ladder Company). I will be extensively using my newly acquired LR32 guide system(with OF1400), the Domino, and my trusty TS75. I hope to complete it no later than Sept 1. Maybe I'll make the timeline for the monthly contest

I don't have a project for this but I'd sure like all your input. This is Maple burl veneer. I have 4 pieces 16x32. I called my name and ofcourse I had to answer the call. I got this from www.veneersupplies.com Joe said it was some of the nicest veneer he's got in a long time. I think that was the bait and I was the fish on the hook.

I ripped out the coat closet by the front door. Hanging rod and cabinet doors will be replaced by Bench/shoe cubbys, shaker style coat pegs around the perimeter, and a high shelf. I'm hoping I can get my hands on some more Himalayan Cedar to line it with, the stuff smells like heaven's coat closet.

I hear ya Eli. The smell of Spanish Cedar is one of the reasons I build Humidors. Very aromatic. Love the stuff.

Currently working on twin full size golf lockers for my garage. I just started to paint the plywood before I start cutting. In fact my fingers are covered with dry paint. Attached is the .skp . I don't have the drawers or face frames drawn yet, haven't decided on design but you get the idea.

I am planning to build a dining room table, using the butterfly leaf table from Jerry Work's domino write-up as a basis. I will be using a different leg arrangement, shop made slides, and intend on having two butterfly leaves. The wood is in the shop acclimatizing and work will start in a week or two.

A few years ago I suffered a back injury that wound up taking me about 18 months to recover from. During that time I purchased a wonderful hot tub spa for therapy to aid in my healing. Now that I'm feeling much better one of my desires has been to replace the original fugly plastic cabinet skirting with some real western red cedar. Today I began milling up the needed rough sawn lumber into 5/8" thick v-panel tongue and groove boards. Holy smokers, the mulch pile I'm going to have when this is done!

I started on my first (of eight!) sets of plantation shutters. I've never done a project this large before, so it'll be a great learning experience. Hopefully I won't have to scrap the first set, but it's already been a huge learning process. We'll see how it turns out!

It doesn't matter if the first set is scrapped, it's when the 2nd and 3rd set are scrap tha it becomes an issue Just kiddin, best of luck on your project. There's a post by someone here that made shutters.

I am going to make a bedside table using plans and the "All Festool Shop." It worked so well with the chest of drawers, I want to make a piece of furniture a month. Using plans. This table is from the American Furniture group. Can't start onit yet. Sal and I have to finish organizing the shop...by Sept 1 we should start.

I'm a newbee, but my next intricate project (I really enjoy building large scale projects, like complete, wall to wall, floor to ceiling, garage cabinets, i.e. Lots of boxes), is to create a game box for my mom. She enjoys lots of games, particularly Scrabble, Dominos (she loves my Festool, BTW), and Chess. I'd like to create a box that was heirloom quality that could store these games, and possibly be expanded for others (Backgammon, Chinese Checkers, etc.) in the future. I've been "designing" for over a year, but I haven't cut a single piece of wood, yet. I want to use some really exotic woods (I'm in north America,) and really build something special. I'd like to do hand made dovetails, and inlays for the game boards, but we'll see what really gets done. Eventually, I'll make her cry...

My next project has to be to tidy my shop so that I can 1) get into it 2) find my tools 3) have some uncluttered space to build something

My next project has to be to tidy my shop so that I can 1) get into it 2) find my tools 3) have some uncluttered space to build something Frank, I have to do that every two months. Once I get everything stowed and pretty, I find I can't remember where anything is anymore, and tear everything apart again searching for things. Charles
