All this wood would normally be cut up into logs for fire wood!  I couldnt believe it!  but they decided to see if they can make stuff with it and sell it!

So here we are!

About 65% of what you can see is Cedar and 25% is Oak and rest is bit of Ash and Yew I think.

So question is what would you guys make with this stuff?!?!

It is all Green by the way! So interior furniture is out of the question really.

Fire wood?

Fire wood?

Fire wood?

Fire Wood?

More fire wood?

They have ALOT more stored out side to dry out a bit

How are you goin to charge them for your labour, are they just gonna pay labour and hope they get the costs back on sellin the items. Sounds a bit risky for them but grea for you.

I'd go with garden furniture, fancy planters, log stores,

Looks a great oppertunity to keep dry on wet dys

JMB,

I think you should make wooden models of Festool tools or wooden models of wildlife that look very realistic.  Just my 2 pence.

Those are some great slabs! And this sounds like a strange job  Tongue Out

They (who is they?) can't wait and dry it? I've never worked with green lumber before, it seems a shame to limit the use of it.

The slabs would make nice benches around a modern looking pool.

You could also use them to make some high backed chairs, very straight lines, again a modern look.

I would think that you could make a lot of garden benches. / low tables.  With your skills you could use dovetails to try and control major cracking in the tops using the live edge boards and use some of the dressed timbers for the legs and structure.

The tools in my truck were talking the other day.  The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy.  They also were in the minority.  Their complaint:  They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in.  I guess the truth hurts.

UK style is very very different from across the pond.   I for one don't like the Wayne edge smooth epoxy filed tables and chairs.

Table and chairs like that will be very hard to sell in the UK AND they take more time which as you might already know I lack.

Them hand crafted chairs would be fun to do (once) but not very profitable lol

I been looking and was hopin to get ideas for things which are nice but don't take to long to make but do look well.

I have made a few things already but my camera is playing up for some reason but I'll try and get pictures.

I do want to make more complex things but 1 or two days  like mentioned by Matt D inside ''The work canopy" isn't ideal to start making more time consuming furniture.   If I had my work shop built this would be an ideal job!

Cheers!

Well this is what I made!

Nothing really fancy  everything was made on site so makes it little awkward to make fancy things.   Especially because I only have a thicknesser not a surface planer so getting the stock perfectly square was out of the question  just had to hope the milling machine had made it square enough.

The first picture in reply #23   with the table with X legs  you can see a large plywood former.   Its laminated with solid oak  5mm strips 18 of them  glued up and strapped and clamped round the former.

Nice James!  That stuff must be quite heavy, though.

Yeah it is!  Thats why its bolted together so it CAN be taken apart if needed  preferred if not though.    I wanted to Peg the holes but they are big pieces but they are very solid!.   The wayne edge picnic table took 4 of use to carry a real struggle with just two of ya.

All im doing is designing and making the furniture as I please!   The clients are sanding and doing what ever needs doing once im done.
