iv seen that on u tube a while back . tried to make it out of floor underlay foam. didnt work right and used 2 cans of glue . i wish you could get it here. the shipping would cost a fortune. .
looks very handy stuff

Yeah I would like some of that stuff also!!!
I like the drill in the draw idea also!!!!
Often I have my drill stacked under a couple of otherboxes having it in a draw ill always have access to it even right at the bottom of the stack!
Soooooooo ill be ordering some more sortainers and doing that my self! Just need to find decent foam!

Is there something about this stuff that makes it SO much better than the pink styrofoam I can buy at the borg (probably for much less), that can also be 'sculpted' with PVC glue (or maybe it was the primer)?

I used the pink foam in the bottom of my systainers originally, but never had tool specific cut outs. The kaizen foam is made of glued up pieces of foam so no chemicals are needed plus I don't think I could make tight fitting spots for tools with a primer brush. The foam isn't to expensive I gave a sheet to Ken Negrod and he figured there can be 3 pieces cut out to fit a maxi systainer. I lined 2 systainers with less then a 1/2 of sheet of 30mm.

That foam looks interesting.
I put my CXS in a drawer and it's one of the better organization things I've done. Drawers above contain driver and drill bits. Grab one box and you've got just about anything you need.

If you need to glue some pieces together I have found if you put a genours amount of hot glue in the center of the pieces where it is not near the edge and hold for a bit until it is dry. It holds better than any other way. You also have some time to line it up before it cools. Hot wire is also another way to make cutouts.

There is a Gentleman by the Name of Martin Atkins at www.toolovation.co.uk that said he would bring in some kaizen foam if people were interested and if there was a demand he would stock it too. hopefully you guys can get some and try it out, its really cool stuff. Thanks Dave Well you have giving me two things now! You know you store your drill in a Sortainer well that never crossed my mind to stick a power tool inside to be honest never thought it would all fit in! Seeing your vid it clearly does soooooo I went and order another 3 of them sortainers so now have 4 but I think Im going to need more!! I have T15 drill in one! My Carvex fits in another and planning on sticking my Milwaukee SDS in another got grinder drills etc to sort out so maybe need to get some more! The other thing is that web you just linked! Just had a little browse and noticed these Little Hand Some UK kitchens I have fitted have brackets you fix to the wall and you simply just hook the units onto and then adjust simples! BUT some have a very poor method of fixing to the wall and these would make much easier to get them into position. Currently I would I stack a few systainers and then using ply wood and wedges to get it level upped to the correct height. JMB |

Wanted to add to Daves thread. Just got some mini sys's in, one of each size. The first one has all my centrotec chucks and everything centrotec. I am gonna bring this to all my installs, so I attached it to the stud finder sys. The stud finder never came with a case and i wanted to protect it. If anyone has any suggestions of what else I should put in there, its lonely. I also use this corded Dewalt drill for all my pocket holes, so i teamed it up with some of the kreg accessories. When more systainers arrive I am gonna put this Kreg drawer and slide jigs in a sys2, not bc it really needs protecting, but so i can attach it to others and roll em in. The Kaizen foam had almost no learning curve and cut easily. Every once in awhile something would be too tight and I would shave a little off to get a dead fit, but thats how i am in the field too. Bob and I actually cut the 2 1/2 inch foam down to 1 1/4 inch which fit two minisys's and could work for sys1 applications. Definitely would reccomend this product and found it was easy to deal with. I did the complicated centrotec one in less then twenty minutes. One word to FastCap. There are currently 620 billion black ink pens on earth and you make the foam black?  Just saying, I got a silver pen at Staples for $1.99 and a narrow retractable utility blade and a larger one from HD for less then $2.00 each, so I wouldnt waste time with FastCaps offerings, Eric |

Warner, that is exactly what the goons over at Contractortalk.com do. Im glad you liked it. Seth, ive seen some of your other systainer mods and i know you are gonna love it, going to ToolNut?
I forgot to mention that i would set the small and large blades to the same depth. I would then use the large for straight cuts and the small for curves, works great. You can do a lot with $20 worth of foam. Eric

Warner, I never baby my tools and they are all banged up, i just hate clutter and i have an assistant, so if everything has a place, either of us can find it at anytime, whether its in a sys or in the boxvan, Eric

Some of you know that a few weeks ago I broke my toe and finding comfortable shoes to wear has been a problem. I found the solution! Kaizen Foam  I also needed a solution for the inconvenience of bagging a lunch. I found that if I could carry my lunch with my tools, storage and deployment would be much easier.  I'm working on a version for snacks and a version I call the Olive Garden that holds soup, salad and bread sticks. |

All this talk about kaizen foam made me want to go and organize some more systainers today. I think the pen that fastcap offers works great. It allows me to mark clearly around the item with a crisp line and it only costs a whole $5. People spend more on coffees than that pen cost. Any breakaway knife will work. I like using a breakaway knife best because you can choose your depth of cut by how much blade is exposed. The fastcap one is $3 not expensive at all so I would add one to my order of kaizen foam if I didn't already have one.  I moved my woodpecker setup block to a mini sys I had. I also used 2p10 and glued a piece of foam to the lid to keep things from moving  Set up my hilti impact in a sys 2 Dave Sorry for the picture sizes, I'm using tapatalk and haven't quite figured it out yet.. |

That would be good! If they can copy some of the woodpeckers tools do their entire range but a UK version would be mint! Can't see why a company can't do the same in UK They won't contact you? Crap company then. The UK dealer who sells the woodpecker tools in UK is also crap. Very annoying old man lazy as heck. You ask if he has a woodpecker square or something he has to come back to you which can take a full day even the next day for him to call you and say no but then to tell you what he does have this and that. Well i didn't ask for them!!!!. So you ask if he has something else you get an answer I'll have to come back to you on that and see if I have it so another day waiting! He asks for yoru email and sends you the list of woodpecker stuff. So you think that's what he has in! You call him up about 60% of it he does not have. Why the bloody heck does he not put that on the email out of stock or something! You call him up before 8 oclock and you get a grumpy man telling you off for calling him up to early he was sleeping! Well why use your house phone number then for your business! Crazy! How was I suppose to know he works nights and sleep during the day doesn't say that on his website. Jmb |

I was thinking at one point doing it my self! Either import the woodpecker stuff or get the stuff made. Got a metal fabrication factory just up the road from me I know the owner but I ended up knocking it on the head when I started thinking about it in detail! Got enough on my plate! Yeah gotta be anodised! Green would be good . I like bright orange also  Can't wait to see what you get made! And I hope you will do ALOT better job! Tom Have you emailed Richard Hummel at Woodpecker directly?? I've found him to be very responsive to ideas or feedback. He's a great guy. If there are issues with UK distributors, I'd think he would want to know. Given the craft he has demonstrated and the ideas he has developed, I'm sure he's probably patented some of them.
