Wanted to write a quick review on the Fuji Spray T75 gravity gun I used for the first time this weekend. I purchased this gun to replace the Turbineaire gun I have. I am using it, at least temporarily, with my existing Turbineaire turbine. Here's a few specifics:
Needle set used: 1.0
Finish: General Finishes High Performance (waterborne) satin finish
Wood: White Oak
Stain: General Finishes Java Gel
Coats: 3 (didn't have any sanding sealer on hand so this was only finish on top of the stain); sanded with 600 grit between coats
Results were quite impressive- finish was applied very consistently across the blanket chest- much better than my old gun. The other thing I liked is that no air is passed through the gun until the trigger is pulled. This was my first use of a gravity gun, so I had to rig up a temporary way to hang the gun- a heavy cord ran between the legs of the sawhorse worked for this one project- I'll have to devise something better for future uses.
I have not used any of the other current systems on the market (Apollo, Earlex, etc) for a comparison, but I can tell you I'm very pleased with the results and I cannot wait to pair this up with a Q4 turbine in the future.
Many Thanks to @tjbnwi
for recommending the T75 and to Jeff at Homestead for his help in assuring I had everything I needed to work with my existing turbine.
