As promised here’s a little review of the Systand, an MFT like Systainer workbench top.

The Systand can be purchased in the Netherlands at www.diafer.nl or with email to info@diafer.nl. The price is 79 EUR plus shipping, VAT and possible customs if ordered outside Europe. Unfortunately single shipping even inside Europe doesn’t come cheap. This is the classic version, but a T-Loc is in development.

Anyway the material is birch Multiplex with custom made hardware and I am almost certain the parts were CNC made and then glued and nailed. Except some minor and unavoidable chipping from routing the MFT grid (19,5 mm) the whole design and assembly is absolutely Festool like, practical and topnotch.

The Systand accurately fits on the Systainer and with the laser cut steel snapper fastener it connects perfectly to the Systainer. It’s not lightweight, but carrying a medium filled systainer on the Systand is not a problem.

Both clamps fit easy and perfect into the hole grid as well as into the side openings. In addition there is a V groove, that helps fix work pieces on top.

Although anyone can make a similar version of this worktop, I don’t think there’s much room for improvement and you still have to make your own hardware. Therefore EUR 79,- is a very reasonable price. Of course shipping and taxes are a concern, but this could probably be reduced if ordered in bulk.

Here you go:

Although the connection between Systainer and Systand is perfect, it depends on the weight of the Systainer underneath.

I forgot to mention the dimensions are exactly the same as a Systainer Sys 1. Therefore you can easily support a longer workpiece with a matching number of Systainers!

Thnks for the review, it does look like a very good piece of equipment for those little jobs on site where you need to hold something down. I like the side holding aspect and the fact its the same hight as the Sys 1. Well thought through.
I will keep an eye open for the new T lock version when it comes out.

Definetly looks well made. Some good ideas. A little less compact than some others though.

This is a nice concept - I'm thinking a t-loc version will be a future project for me!

Thanks Alan
The dimensions are the same as the T-Loc 1, so there's no overhang

The tools in my truck were talking the other day.  The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy.  They also were in the minority.  Their complaint:  They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in.  I guess the truth hurts.

Thanks Peter I just sent him an email and he quickly replyed
The T-systand costs €69,- excl 19% VAT in the shops in holland.
I can offer you the T-systand for the FOG introduction price of €65,- excl. shipping and VAT.
A fair price for such a lot of machining and material.
I am seriously thinking of getting one.
It was nice to have a FOG discount thrown in.
