Hi All,
I used to use Cutlist Plus for keeping stock of my timber/lumber and sheet goods when I used Windows but now am a confirmed Mac user and Cutlistplus doesn't work with it. I know I can split my Computer but don't want to go down that route. Is there an alternative programme out there that I can use on my Mac.

I use CutlistPlus on my iMac. I open VMware Fusion while running MacOS, and Fusion has Windows loaded in it. Seamless. No worries about splitting the mac and starting up in either MacOS or Windows.
It would be nice it the Cutlist developers created a version for Mac though.

What do I need to get, I assume I can download VMware Fusion but what do I need to get re Windows to run Cutlist.

you need to have VMWare (or similar product) installed then you install a *purchased* copy of windows onto it. Ie, you still have to buy windows (or at least have access to an install disc).
Then you start it up have what looks like a windows box running on your mac.
It's very disgusting... :-)
Also, there is a cultist plugin for Sketchup on the Mac, Lots of good reviews, personally I was unable to get it to run correctly. Ran out of time to track it down.

You might check out Cabinet Cut by ITF Software. It runs on the Mac and they have a 28 day free trial. At $58 to purchase, it is pretty reasonable. I have only used it a couple times, it seemed OK but I have not tested thoroughly. I am in a similar position to you in that my previous panel optimizing software was Windows. Good luck!

Yes, fritter63 is right in that you still need to have a valid copy to Windows and VMware.
But, there are two ways to use a Windows port on an iMac. One is to create separate startup into Windows when you boot up. The other is to open a VMware Fusion session within MacOS (this is my solution, but there are others that work as well) that have Windows operating within it.
So, the cost is:
VMware Fusion (or equivalent) and Windows.
This allows you to run whatever Windows programs you want on an iMac.
I don't see it as disgusting; I'm not aware of an equivalent program for Windows that allows you to use MacOS software?

I believe that Cut List Plus has different versions. The version I have will not run on Windows Vista which I have on my laptop. It worked fine on my earlier desktop. So I assume if you want to run a version you were already using you will need to get the correct Microsoft Windows Version for what you have.

There is/was at least one program to run Mac programs on windows but it was/is very slow. There are several programs that permit running windows on Mac without partitioning and booting into Windows directly. There are different versions of CutList Plus. However they are different only in the features they permit not the OS it will run on. You may have an old version. The current one Requires Windows XP, Vista or Win 7. Screen resolution of 1024 x 768. The current version is CutList Plus fx. However before I upgraded from CutList Plus.
