Anti-static 90 Degree large bore elbow
« on: September 13, 2018, 06:39 PM »
I needed a 90 degree elbow and found this one available from Oneida Air Systems.  It is very versatile and fits a number of vac hoses  to my surprise.  One end is tapered and a perfect fit into the vac cannister on my CT36, CTL-SYS and Ridgid vacs.  That same end fits over the standard Dust Deputy ports.  Made from antistatic conductive plastic.

What I like about it is that the other end is a perfect fit internally for the vacuum end on standard CT27mm and 36mm hoses as well as most shop vac hoses.  In addition, the outside diameter is a perfect fit for 2.5" aftermarket dust collection hoses.

I'm sure many folks already knew about this, but for me it seems like I am always searching for an adapter that doesn't seem to exist when I need one.  Best of all it is inexpensive.

Yes, it is......I just did a search and there is a Dutch supplier that sells it.
I'm thinking about ordering a couple of them myself!

There should also be a Festool part number for an elbow like this that actually fits on the hose itself from the CT Cyclone hose right? See images here: (LINK)

Festool don't offer a 50MM bend. They only do bends to fit smaller diameter hose's.

Hey Dick:
Good find. Had to laugh a little, though.
Oneida’s shipping - $9.99 - Is almost TWICE the cost of the item - $5.30.
But... I guess if “ya gotta - ya gotta.[crying]

Like you, I’ve “chased around” looking for connectors to “make it work”.
At one point, I just put my Dust Collector, Dust Deputy and hoses, in my SUV -
And “did a tour” of HD, Lowe’s, Woodcraft and Rockler.
You do get some funny looks when you load ‘em into a shopping basket -
And wheel ‘em into the store and over to the fittings/connectors section.
But... It got the job done. [wink]

....No, it wasn't!

I'm not sure why the link doesn't work?

I'll try and post the link again.

Edit. No, it won't allow me to post a working link.....!

Yep, I cringed a little at the shipping but I bought a couple and amortized it over several pieces.  Then I said........wait, why am I even hesitating about cost as I looked at my stack of systainers.   [big grin]  The Festool equivalent was over $20 and requires it to  replace a hose end which isn't what I was looking to do.

Funny thing is, I was fiddling around a couple nights ago and decided to shorten the hose from the ultimate DD to the CT, since they both sit @ the same height on some french cleated shelves. Rummaged around in my heap of extractor parts and discovered 2 of the elbows you pictured which gave me the 180 I needed when joined together. Didn't realize they were conductive/antistatic.

The funny-ish part is I had some conductive copper tape so I spent a half hour applying it to the elbows...  [doh]
