Cool!

A small battery planer is always handy. I think there is a Ryobi (?) out too with 56mm cutters. Seen the cutters on a shelf, not seen the machine though.

Router looks a wee bit flimsy though.

A friend of mine recorded and uploaded some videos when he had the chance to experience both machines first hand. I wouldn't exactly consider this flimsy. ;) Oak and Bongossi ...

Make sure to watch until the GHO hits wood and chips fly! ;)

Kind regards,
Oliver

I like the planer , but does anyone else think 400-500 dollars/euros for that little planer is a bit ridiculous ?

Hi!

Excl. VAT/TAX and shipping it's 144,96 GBP in the UK (without batteries, charger and L-Boxx). That would make it 191.04 USD (today).

Given my information is correct that US citizen can receive goods up to 800.00 USD in value via post/courier without having to pay import duties - one should be able to get it in the low 2XX.XX USD range (given one already has 10.8/12 V batteries and a charger).

Kind regards,
Oliver

I was simply going on prices from the link provided which is 346.80 pounds sterling.   No option for a bare tool in that link.

$200usd seems more in line.

Well, with flimsy I was thinking "not very powerful". I think the Makita seems more suitable for a few more general tasks, it being 18V and having the assortment of quite cheap bases.

That little planer sure is cute though. :)

I did a little digging but could not find a part number for the set, yet.

Bosch has been quite busy with their 12/10,8V line and there are a few goodies in there. I like the little jigsaw, the fabric shearer, the metal shearer, the planer and I even admit the router does not look half bad. It would be really nice to have a sys III/IV filled to the brim with them Bosch-Poke-them-ons and a few batt's. Not that I will do that for the time being but I am keeping a keen eye on the system.

We can rest assured Festool does not expand their 10,8V system at any greater speed. The CXS/TXS are great little machines but does seem like a one-off deviation from the 18V line. I hope I am wrong.

Official word from Bosch in Sweden is that we won't get this set until first Quarter 2018. :(

Sometimes it's worth the wait.

I know here in the U.S. there is a delay for us to get new Bosch gear and it becomes much less expensive once it officially becomes available here. I wanted the 12V jigsaw a few years back, but it was NAINA. I could have bought it through the U.K. but that would have been about $275. Now that the jigsaw is everywhere in the U.S., you can find for about $100 now. Good little jigsaw, sold my Carvex and just use Festool blades. Cuts look the same.

So as much as I would like the 12V planer (and maybe the router), the prices to get it sent to the U.S. is way too much for what the tool is. I'll wait until next year.

Official word from Bosch in Sweden is that we won't get this set until first Quarter 2018. :(

Interesting bench that they are using. Not MFT but similar. Too many holes and the spacing is not 96mm. The profiles look close to the old 1080 with twice the slots and the connector corners are different. Any ideas?
