obviously i'd much prefer the makita but the dewalt has LED's at the bit!! i want to keep this in the truck with my for quick hinge mortises and that light would make the task that much better...

I have the Dewalt - the Mak wasn't out yet when I got it.  Overall I like it.  The LEDs are definitely a plus, but the major con is that the dust collection accessories (which you have to buy separately for the fixed and plunged bases) kind of destroy the visibility at the bit and cancel out your gains from the LED.  If you'd be using the router without dust collection for finer work where there isn't as much debris and dust then the LEDs are a big plus.

i have a 2.25 makita and the festool 0f1400, seems theres no good solution for dust collection and being able to see the bit.

The 1010 has much better visibility with DC connected than the 1400. Both of those routers look like nice units though.
