Hi Everyone
I am looking for any input good or bad regarding your thoughts and personal experience while using these great tools - One Time and regular production tools.
Im trying to make up my mind which to purchase and therefore put together a wish list, so would be grateful of all your help

I don't think the "one time " tools are just that.  I think they do them again a few years down the line.  Silly not to really !

I have really liked pretty much all of the Woodpecker's measuring tools. I have had a couple that I wasn't completely happy with but it was more my personal use than anything else. There are plenty of other brands of excellent measuring tools, but these really seem to be designed for us woodworkers. Easy to read, no maintenance, top notch quality, accurate. The scales are consistent across the line. In other words you can switch tools and not worry that about a rule or square matching up.

Of the regular line some good and useful choices are ....

Woodworking Rules

12" and 32" T-Squares

Precision Triangles

Of the One Time Tools.....

The small T - Squares

Any of the really large Squares

Set Up Blocks

Saddle Squares

Bevel Triangles


     You will probably have to wait for special runs to get metric of anything.

The story stick is excellent and very useful. The 12" square is essential. I also have the paolini rule and I like it but I am still awaiting the replacement screws months later.

The Veritas saddle square is one of my favourite marking tools, just to demonstrate that there are alternatives to Woodpeckers.

I would say the ones I listed are the most used items (for me), but I do use  a lot of the others too.  The Bar Gauge set is very handy, I do use it more than I thought I would.  When it comes right down to it, what you find is the best to have will depend  on what you build and how you work. The basic squares and rules are  always  going to see use. I would go for those first and add other devices as you like. Kind of depends on what gets offered by Woodpecker's though.

I have got the T Square and love it.  Would love to supply these in the UK, but my attempts to contact the company have been ignored or lost in translation. 

There are other ways we can get it though

Thanks guys for the comments. Seth in another entry you spoke of a Gold 6 inch precision square, I just found the two piece set with one gold 6" & red 4" any thoughts as to age of this set ?

The Woodpecker "gold" color (colour for Peter  ) could be more collectible but I think most agree the red they settled on tends to be a bit easier to read the increments.

So my questions to you all are ....
What are you using all the time and couldn't be without ?
What did you buy that you are you not using very often ?
Do you think I need to have both the 600 t square and the 600 framing square now being produced ?
My wish list includes the woodworkers rules, small carpenters squares and 1281 framing square + other small pieces
Sorry to be a bore  I need Help !!
