I'm new around here, and really enjoy photography. I recently through my favorite shots together in a site called ReTake. I take a couple of photo trips a year and really enjoy photography. I hope you enjoy them!

This is great. It is the first time I have seen the GPS data map pictures to specific places and addresses on a map like the pictures in Barcelona Spain. I had not thought about how useful that could be.

They've got a lot of cameras now that actually store the GPS data as part of the EXIF metadata. Pretty cool.

Ahhh...now I can see it. Electrical panels! I simply couldn't figure out what it was on the picture you made the bracket for. And i'm actually electrician and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering . Very nice photos on the ReTake homepage. Photography is also one of my passions. You are quite right about what you write about Cuba on ReTake, it's like an old movie set and a photographers paradise. I went there 2 years ago and really enjoyed it!

I need to get back to Cuba before all the Americans go there in droves.

Very nice pictures David. What kind of camera do you have? Photography is my other hobby besides woodworking.

Nowadays I mainly shoot with a Canon 1DsMkII, but many of those shots on the site were taken with a point/shoot Leica Lux 4 or a Mamiya 7 medium format.

That's some serious equipment. I'm assuming this is more than hobby for you.

Hi David, Thanks so much for sharing your Retake site - I really enjoyed looking at your work! I like photography, too, but was never very serious about it until quite recently. Previously, I just wanted to take reasonably acceptable pictures to document things I made. So my very thoughtful husband bought me a nice Canon G3 just for that purpose. I loved it, and it served me well for many years. But every once in a while.... I'd want to take an extreme close-up shot of something. Like a bug. Not possible. Or.... I'd want to zoom in close to some bird.... Without scaring the bird. And without using digital zoom. Not possible. Gradually I began to realize that this was happening ALL THE TIME! Hmmmm...... And my shots were becoming progressively less sharp! (or, rather, my tolerance for fuzziness was progressively declining....)Hmmmm..... My once perfect camera had somehow lost its charm. I began looking at other cameras on the internet - I felt bad, but I couldn't stop. When we finally broke up, she took it surprisingly well. The next day she packed up and moved in with my sister. Everyone agrees they make a nice couple. One week later, I fell in love with a Canon Rebel XSi. Bought her a nice macro lens to wear when we go on walks. That was last October. We've been very happy together. Even though she keeps reminding me that I have a lot to learn....

Thanks David, Yes and I have had some of my images in Sports Illustrated also. I learn something new every time I shoot an event or talk with another photographer. Welcome, Tom! I see that you have some stuff listed at Getty Images, which is a high compliment.
