Here are some from todays game.  It was a great game with Chicago outlasting Detroit in the shoot-out.  The Blackhawks look good.......

Do they only have red and white shirts in hockey? I noticed I always see the same colours over and over again in your pictures.  Huh?

Your close.  Most NHL teams have white in their home or away jerseys.  The Wings' home colors are red and white and their road uniforms are white and red.  Depends on the team they are playing, that will have them change for the home games................ Cool

Most teams would hope that wearing red and white jerseys would help them play as well as the Red Wings.  Grin

However, this year has been brutal for injuries for my beloved team. We are hoping they will get everyone back in time to make the playoffs and then have a good run. When they are healthy they are the team everyone measures themselves against.

Yeah Greg, the injuries have been brutal this year.  Seen Franzen yesterday and he is looking better every day.  About another month and we should have everybody back on the ice!!!

OK Tom, you gotta give some more details on how you took these shots.  Really great shots.  I don't see these kinds of shots in our local/national papers, and I'm in the land of the creator (of hockey) Canada.  Share some details please!

EDIT:  Just went thru some of the other threads and noticed you're a pro photog.  Still, thanks for sharing.   Errr...how much does a camera like that cost...ballpark.

Kevin, Thanks for the comments......  Those are shot with the Canon 1D MKIV which just came out.  Retail is 5000.00 US for the body with no lenses and the lenses that I use when shooting on strobes is the 28-300 2500.00 US.  I have been involved in photography for about 28 years now.  Usually the shots that you see in newspapers are a bad example for the photographers skills.  Those are downsized and compressed for newsprint.  Many of those guys and gals have many years of experience and awesome skills, but unfortunately their work is only seen in newsprint!
