I have to admit that sport has always been an interest of mine although I gave up participating many years ago.  Now when I find a thread about a sport that I have never heard about and the word Festool comes up then my attention is piqued.

On Festool Germany's Facebook page there was something interesting and after running the text thru Google Translator I was curious if the translation was correct.  YEP. - WOK Racing.

In case you have never heard or seen WOK racing before here is a link that hopefully will work for everyone - WOK Racing - Who Knew?

You can check out the announcement about the race tomorrow by going to Festool Germany's Facebook page or Festool Germany,  Here is a link that you will need to translate:  http://www.festool.de/Ueber-uns/News/Seiten/2013-03_Wok-WM.aspx

The tools in my truck were talking the other day.  The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy.  They also were in the minority.  Their complaint:  They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in.  I guess the truth hurts.

Well,  after spending considerable time searching for the results of this World Class Event, I have discovered that Christian - the wokker mentioned in the article - was injured in training and was not able to compete.    Sad Please join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.  I hope that these are annual events and not held on 4 year cycles.

Please note that the wokking athlete (Christian) mentioned above is not the same person as the Festool USA CEO.  I have no knowledge if any woks were harmed during training or the races.

Wow, I can't believe that is an organized sport.  That's no different than me recklessly flying down hills on college campuses via cafeteria trays.  Pretty cool that people are psyched on it and having fun.  Tis all that matters.

And yes Kev, I have no clue why we don't have hover boards.  I'd gladly take 5 years of no more NAINA tools making it over here if it meant Festool R&D completed a hover board.

Sorry, but after seeing what this sport was all about, I've decided to "WOK" away from it.

DF 500 Q, HL850E-Plus, CT22, 5 systainers and several accessories. I'm just a rank Festool beginner, but I'm trying hard. Smiley Oh yeah, now that I own a FOG hat 2011 edition, I guess I'm not such a beginner anymore.
