« on: January 11, 2013, 03:19 PM »

What model do you have?  Maybe one of our international members can assist.

He has the Basis table, the predecessor of the CMS.

Bichodamadeira, you have asked the exact same question in this post before: http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/table-basis-sas-plus-500/msg208445/#msg208445

In that post you said you solved it.

I'll say again, DON'T connect the fence to the sliding table, connect it to the table itself and it will be straight.

But you'll also need to adjust the sliding table. I don't have this particular model, but I know Festool puts many screws on the slider so you can adjust it. You just have to find the proper 4 or 5 screws. Play around, experiment.

This might be stupid observation since I don't own a Basis system, but at least on the CMS-version you are supposed to have the sliding table on the other side of the table (left) and attach the fence to the base-unit just like Alex said in an earlier post? You are not to my knowledge supposed to have a sliding fence(?)
The sky's the limit in my workshop, literally. [big grin]

The picture is taken from the back of the table, so the slider is on the correct (left) side. The Basis table had this pull saw mechanism and you can see the hole for it on the edge of the table in the top of the picture.

But you're right that you shouldn't connect the fence to the slider, that's counterproductive and dangerous. At least when ripping. Nobody wants a moving fence when ripping.

When you rip you're supposed to connect the fence directly to the table.
When you crosscut you're supposed to connect it to the slider.

BTW, is there a possibility to screw the slider down to a fixed position with the Basis and the CMS like there is with the CS70?

Alex,

At least on the CMS there is a bolt with a rubber end that will secure the sliding table in the desired position.
