Vac System Bracket for MFT
« on: December 17, 2018, 11:56 AM »
I am trying to find the post that has the instructions on how to build the Vac System Shop made bracket for the MFT. I am new to the FOG and would appreciate any guidance. Thank you.

I made one but found it had a little too much flex on the MFT/3 profile.

289112-0   289114-1  I used 8020 1530 series extrusions to make my outriggers, I have two for the two stations I use.

It works great! Keeps the Vac Sys out of the way when not in use and it's always there when I need it. I have never had a problem with flexing.

I made one but found it had a little too much flex on the MFT/3 profile.

I had the same issue.  I saw @Sedge at a demo earlier this month and he showed me how he places the bracket over a leg and inserts a shim to reduce the flex.  I made mine out of a 9x18 piece of corian.  I will likely rabbet it to fit my MFT so that I don't need to use a shim.

The nut that you see on Sedge's bracket is called a Low-Profile Narrow-Base Weld Nut, p/n 98001A135, they are $7.68 for a pack of 25 from McMaster-Carr.
