Templates for OF 1010 and OF 1400 Routers
« on: April 21, 2019, 10:35 AM »
I am making a router jig , looking for templates which will match the bottom holes of the 1010 and OF 1400 Routers

There are no templates in owners manual. Where can I find these templates?

As far as I know there aren't any templates per se out there.  Many here have asked similar or exact questions and doing a search similar to "Mounting a 1400 to a router table" might give you results.

Guido Henn made a router table and instead of using the screw holes he router a recess for the base and the guide rods and then used the guide rods to mount.  Might be worth a thought for you.  You could route out a generic recess for the larger base and then make guide rod slots (like spokes on a wheel but parallel.)

I have one that I made so that I could mount my 1010 & 1400 to a MicroFence router base. PM me with your email address and I'll send you a copy. It's plotted at 1:1 so you can use it as an actual template.  It's available in.cad, .dwg or .dxf, your choice.  [smile]

Whilst I think the OF1010 and OF1400 are great handheld routers (I have both) I can't imagine why you'd want to use them in a router table.

I have a Triton router in mine (MOF001), and it has a number of advantages over the Festool, including:

1) Automatic spindle locking, so you only need one spanner to change bits, and don't need to reach below the table.
2) Through the table height adjustment.
3) Half the cost of the Festool routers.

Just my opinion.
