New products coming April 2019, but you can pre-order them now on our website. I know that many of you have wanted an extension for your MFT/3. Well, the extension table for the MW 1000 is the same height and connects to the MFT/3 and CMS!

Any questions? Post them here!

Below is a list of the new items.

NEW Festool April 2019 - Shop Now!

Check out the short video from Festool on the new MW 1000.

Or, the more in-depth video from the New Brit Workshop's Mr. @Peter Parfitt with his usual great commentary.

Well, there isn't anything there.  The closest thing to a thing is that extension table, dunno, just buy a MFT/3,  for more room.  Saw it in half and make 2 extensions if needed for same price each.

I suppose this means the Kapex accessories will work with a new Kapex, one would hope anyway.

@DeformedTree, the Kapex accessories are for the UG extensions, not the saw itself. But, yes, it looks like all existing Kapex accessories work with the current saw as well as the yet-to-make-its-way-to-the-US REB version.

Hey Shane, what’s new about the jig saw blades?

Hey Shane, what’s new about the jig saw blades?

Thanks for the questions, @Cheese. I sort of glossed over the blades, so here's some more detail.

- There's a new 25-pack of blades with 5/ea of the most popular wood blades (204275)
- There are new fine cut blades, include a reversed tooth down-cut blade (204256, 204257, 204259)
- There are new straight cut blades with Japanese-style teeth (204260-204264)
- A new fine tooth blade for curved cuts and scrolling (204267)
- A sort of neat idea on a blade is the scrolling blade with teeth on the backside of the blade that act like a rasp to clean the kerf as you turn (204266)
- Some new blades for plastics, acrylics, etc. (204268, 204269)
- The new metal blades are more universal now for all non-ferrous metal applications (204270, 204271)

If you have specific questions, let me know.

Thanks for the info Shane...I’ll do a little research with the info you gave me and I’ll probably have more questions. That scrolling blade certainly sounds interesting. Also the plastic blades are of interest.

@SouthRider, what you see in this thread is everything that's been shared from Festool USA at this time. We will not know about any other new products coming to the US until 3-4 months ahead of their launch. But, based on history, I wouldn't expect anything else in the near future.

Hey Shane, just went through the blades. The ones that caught my eye are:

Downcut blade for wood...204259
Japanese style tooth blade...204260
Scrolling blade with teeth on the backside...204266
Plastic blade...204268
Laminate blade...204269

Has Festool released a new jigsaw blade chart that incorporates these new blades? The Festool chart I have is circa 2011.

As a heads-up, I noticed that every blade on your web site in the description it says "Ideal for straight cuts in wood". This includes metal, plastic & scrolling blades. That may lead to some confusion...just an observation.  [smile]

I for one am excited about the new crown stops. I've always hated the fact that the old stops couldn't be used with the extension wings.

Not bad. It only took them 10 years.

That's odd - a Roadshow staff member told me in the Fall that we'd see an impact being sold as a combo with a drill this spring. Must have had some type of problem getting it ready.

I'm surprised no one has commented that the mobile workshop is a pretty clear rip off of Timothy Wilmotss' MFTC.  And they did the same with the Systainer with an MDF work top.  I'm a big festool fan but they should throw the guy a bone for giving them the basis for these tools.  I actually think the MFTC with extension tables is more functional as it has a place to store the rails inside the extensions while your working.

Looks like a stretch to say rip off.  The problem you get into is the classic one that has been around for the dawn of time.  People all around the world come up with similar/same ideas at the same time. It doesn't mean one copied the other.  The general idea isn't exactly a huge stretch of the imagination. Festool already had CMS extension tables, and wheels for systainers, etc.  Someone making something and posting it online doesn't mean everyone who does something similar copied that person.  Unless someone goes patenting something, and it holds up in court, no one got ripped off.  If you come up with something and then post it online, you have just entered your idea into the public domain, you just gave it to the whole world and have zero expectation of anything coming your way.   And of course there can be someone at festool that worked hard on this thing and never saw the MFTC you mentioned, would you want to be that festool person having people saying you ripped someone off that you very well never heard of?

I think the MTF systainer guy actually pitched it to festool or worked with them in some way.

@RustE, just a different SKU and updated packaging. Otherwise, the same blade.

I'm a little confused on the Kapex UG crown stops.  Are those only for recent UG extensions (e.g. an updated model), or do they fit on ones purchased many years ago?

@Kodi Crescent, the UG extensions have not been changed since they were introduced, aside from giving customers the option for imperial scales. So, the (new, 203356) crown stops will work with all UG extensions.

I would just clarify, the NEW Crown Stops will work with the UG extensions.

The OLD Crown Stops, 494369, will NOT work with the UG extensions, in this case it is one or the other attached to the Kapex itself.

Was the new mobile workshop delayed?
I ordered one with an extra drawer and a MFT3(@10%discount)  from Beaver Industrial Supply and was told Festool had delay the mw1000 to mid April.

I’m reading that it’s shipping from some dealers. What’s the real story? Thanks in advance.

@chiudesign, we started shipping them on 4/1 and have everything in stock if you want to give us a chance to fulfill your order. Free shipping and the 10% off will be applied automatically in your shopping cart. Our website, unlike some, shows realtime inventory so you know whether what you're ordering is in stock or not.

Festool has not announced any type of delay to my knowledge for what it's worth and our shipment was not delayed.

I see your in the City, so you could also pick it up if you wanted. We're in Yorktown Heights, NY.

@Shane Holland Can we get clarification of the ability of the MW-1000 extension table to connect to a CMS, such as the CMS-GE? Is it a matter of it will rest on the profile of the CMS-GE but not clamp down securely? I know I saw a post somewhere but I can't locate it.

@DynaGlide, sure, and I probably was the one who posted about it before. And, I think I have a note on our website about it.

The CMS GE lacks the T-slot style extrusion that's found on the MFT/3. It only has the V-groove extrusion. The MW-1000 extension uses that T-slot as a connection point. So, it will technically connect to the CMS GE, but it's not terribly secure and stable. I would say that they could be used together but you would want to supplement the connection with a clamp. Or, one of our contributor here on the FOG may come up with a better solution.
