Woodpeckers Corner Radius Quick-Jig
« on: January 04, 2012, 12:24 AM »
Surprised that I couldn't find any previous posts about these.  They've been on order for quite a while and I just received them on January 3rd.  Figured they'd come in handy for rounding corners on shelves and table tops or even large feet (wooden feet).

I got all 6 of them.  They are made out of 1 inch thick aluminum with two sizes per jig (one size per side and you flip it over for the other size).  The main plate that sits on your piece is 1/2 inch thick.  Unfortunately it looks like the production of these was rushed.  Lots of CNC tool marks and scratches in the anodizing.  I'm still going to keep them as they are quite handy and usable even with the flaws I mentioned.

Anyone else get theirs or getting theirs eventually, let's hear how yours turned out.

Mine (the four smaller ones) arrived last week, after Woodpeckers sent them to the wrong address and had to re-send them.  I haven't noticed any of the tool marks you mentioned, Ken.  I will scrutinize them more this evening.

 [unsure]

Edit nine hours later: Having just checked the little rascals in my possession, I find nothing that I would consider a terminal cosmetic flaw.  Well, the anodizing isn't absolutely perfect in the center holes, to be picky.  There are shiny places where the hangers were placed as they went into the dip tank.  Tra-la.  I'd be far more upset if I were missing a moving part...

In all fairness to everyone, it is possible that some members have not seen how these are designed to be used.  Here is a link:

I remember when I received the email from Woodpecker outlining the radius jigs.  They looked interesting, enough so that I wanted to order all six.  Well, time being what it was/is/and-always-will-be, I never got around to it.

Perhaps they will come back to life someday.
Never use a 2x4, when a 2x6 will do just as well.
