12 years old Kapex 120 and has quite a bit of sap all over it. How to remove?

New owner of an old Kapex 120.
It's 12 years old and has quite a bit of sap on it. Anyone know of an easy way to remove it?

Try Boeshield blade and bit cleaner. Works a treat on my gear.

It's all over pretty much everything.
Not just the blade.
Like someone sneezed all over the 120.
From different angles.

Would I still use the same chemicals on housing composite material?
Trying to clean it off without discoloring the housing.

Choose a product and try it in a small area first. A small area on the plastic and a small area on the painted parts. I’d be really careful around the black markings on the miter scale.

If it does attack the miter angle markings consider ordering a replacement scale from Festool.

Just looked it up, that miter scale is 91 AUD excl VAT.

Orange Power from Coles, Woolies or your local IGA.  Yuk Off, Pascoe's Oomph Glue & Stain Remover or alternative citrus-based cleaners from the household cleaners aisle will all harmessly remove gum residues from both plastics & metallic painted surfaces.

Had a near-new Stihl 026 chainsaw once that had briefly been used (one month) for pine harvesting.  Had an extensive encrustation of dried pine sap residue that was successfully removed without any physical harm. Took quite a bit to dissolve the worst encrustations as I recall:  about 3 or 4 (heavy, soaking spray) treatments & a lot of clean rags were required.  Came up good as new.

Had some Uni Pro Citrus Hand Cleaner.
Smells so much better than any others.

Used the Rockler Silicone Glue Brush to
spread it around and let it sit a couple minutes.
Then scraped it off with the sharp end.
Quite a bit of elbow grease but looks heaps better.
