Notice decreased dust collection-bag full.

Remove full bag and discard.

Retrieve new bag from inventory.

Wonder why still very poor dust collection?

I think a step got missed.

I am not there with you in your shop, but here are some thoughts based on my own similar experiences.

Is the DE hose partially blocked? If so remove from DE, hold up in middle and shake; if not cleared insert a thin broom handle.

Does the router bitt selected allow the chip diverter to be fitted, is it fitted? Also ensure the dust collection hood is correctly fitted with the clear slider fully closed around the collet/bitt shaft.

Dust and chips can also partially clog the outlet of the hood. So some will be sucked through, but more than usual will be spread out by the bitt.

Other factors include depth setting, bitt type and sharpness, as well as wood species.

Remember also that this router is probably the least efficient Festool at dust collection.  [eek]

I thought this was a satirical post because he'd not put the top and bottom back together, but maybe I'm wrong....  [unsure]

. . . . Particularly when you do not reassemble your Dust Extractor!!  [eek] [eek] [eek]  [big grin]

[size=10pt] This remark based on Garry's comment above.  [smile]

Jerry is correct, got the bag out of the box, never put it in or reassembled the CT. The CT auto mode works on or off the container.

This scarecrow needs to see the Wizard.  (As the line "if I only had a brain" plays in the cavern between my ears).

You're just realizing this ??? I've known it for 56 years.

On the other hand it does demonstrate how good the DC is when properly connected. 'Cause none of that would be on the floor.

That's what you were really trying to do , right Tom?  [wink]

The first time I read this thread I couldn't get the picture to open for me, so I really didn't know what I was seeing. Now that I can see what's going on...

Tom, you're one 'wild and crazy kinda guy'.

And you have my admiration for tattling on yourself after a bonehead move like that. Only a big man can see the humor in his mistake. Only a truly big man would set himself up for the ribbing he knows he'll get if he posts that picture here.

You, sir, are a truly big man!

[wink] [big grin] [not worthy]

And of course the bigger idiot was me for falling for it!    [eek]  [embarassed]

Whew, good thing you guys found the solution. I was gonna answer and it would of been wrong as usual.

But even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then so like the little engine that could, I keep trying

I saw the pic, and was going to make a comment asking what happened...but I decided I should read everyone else's reply first...  Glad I read their replies.  [big grin]
