Can anyone verify that the 18V battery, 500531, is compatible for use in my C15 drill?  The online description says it is, but the drill is labeled with a voltage range of 14.4V - 15.6V.  Also, will it charge in the charger supplied with the C15 drill?

Thanks in advance!

18v battery is not compatible with C15 (or any lower voltage tool) unless something has changed. The other way around is compatible. ie; 15v battery in 18v tool  (though amp hour makes a difference for some tools).

Jeff, do you have a link to the description?

The description is accurate BUT it is the wrong description for the 18v battery. The description is for the 15v battery.  So no the 18v battery will not work in the 15v drill.

Many thanks - glad I asked before ordering.  What a difference a single number makes, eh?  Maybe I'll call them and get them to change their description.

I do remember curiously a video around these parts years back where a guy was confused because his 18v battery was sliding on and off his T15 and working fine.  I imagine the keyed battery slots that prevent an 18v battery going onto a 15v machine are not that substantial, and on that guys item had worn/broken enough to no longer stop it engaging on the wrong tool.

I'm obviously not suggesting anyone should spend $ on this route :) But I'd be curious to know how long that guy managed to run his old T15 of 18v batteries for, before and if anything bad happened..
