Sorry guys I know this has probably been done loads. But could someone do a simple summary of the 18v drills. I'm a little confused

I would like a drill driver and maybe a hammer drill

Think that would set me up for when the 18v impact comes out. Don't think I would ever need another drill then

T18+3 - 2 speed drill/driver, max 1500 rpm, torque in wood/steel 30/45Nm, weight 1.7kg;

DRC18/4 - 4 speed drill/driver, max 3800 rpm, torque in wood/steel 40/60Nm, weight 1.8kg;

PDC18/4 - 4 speed drill/driver, max 3800 rpm, torque in wood/steel 40/60Nm, weight 1.9kg. Also has hammer mode for drilling masonry;

BHC18 - single speed SDS drill, weight 2.6kg.

Remember you're in battery voucher territory if you're in the mood to buy a drill/driver and a hammer.

Check the prices in the UK before you buy if you're planning to pick one up this month. The T18 + 3 will be reduced by $60 on April 1st here in the US.

I got one of the pre Christmas PDC drills, then with voucher in hand went for the T18.

Thanks jonny

So PDC and DRC a good combo? What do you think ?

No, that's redundant as you get all the same specs in both of those with the exception of the light hammer capability for masonry.

Better suggestion is the T18+3 OR PDC OR DRC...AND a BHC which is a full power SDS hammer drill. (And you will LOVE IT!!!) Otherwise, you can just buy a PDC if your hammer requirements are really light, but only for simple masonry bits, because it is not designed for SDS drill bits.

Cheers,
Frank
