Anyone seen any Lee Valley deals besides free shipping?

We will have Cyber Monday specials..... but only on the Monday (Dec 2nd)...Not the week before, the week after.... or advertised in advance.

Enjoy your thanksgiving, your family, your football games, or whatever one chooses to do on a holiday.... there are enough days to shop the rest of the year!

IF I wasn't on a tight budget I might have your same attitude ,

But I am on a budget so when I see a tool , household item or supply that I do 'Need' on a "Back Friday " offering  

I take advantage of the once a year event  as the opportunity does allow me to get more than I can regularly  afford the rest of the year .

I picked up the Jet 1000B, but now see some posts that the remote doesn't work with fluorescent lights on.  And sometimes it will power itself on.  Has anyone experience this?  I had planned on waiting till my garage was done to unpack it, but I may have to try it now.

That sounds like a poor IR receiver if errant IR from fluorescent sources can trigger it.

I'd consider putting a hood on the IR receiver so it is in the shadow of the fluorescent lamps, but you can still hit it directly with the remote.  If you can't get it hooded, put a circular polarizer filter over it to put it in the shadow of the lamps.

Hmmm. I bought that one on sale too! Really did not read the 4 star Amazon reviews, until now! Seems those with fluorescent light troubles made their reviews 3-4 years ago, maybe Jet fixed this issue...?  :-\

Please post your findings when you test your filter. Mine will probably stay in the box for a few months---

Yeah, these bad reviews were old.  It was reported that they did recess the sensor which did nothing but reduce the operating angle.  Hopefully they've resolved all these issues.
