24" planer and 24" jointer rebuild

All that thing needs is a catapult, an elevator, a superstructure, and
5000 men and you could be projecting power around the Globe. :-)

Must be a lot more difficult to move around when it has a nice paint job to protect.
Just don't drop it or use it as a battering ram and all is good.

It maybe just me, Nice , pretty, machines tools give me better results..  [big grin]

Looking good. Do you always use Hermance heads? How do they compare to the Byrds? I've got a Oliver 166CD for $150 recently that I'm trying to put back into service.

I've got a few RC planes that could easily take off and land in that space  [big grin]

95% of the time. The service is fantastic, the machining is beautiful, I prefer the pocketed inserts, each head is chucked up only one time in the process, all heads are balanced, they have good engineers and machinists, numerous times i have had them slightly alter the OEM design as needed. I have no hesitation or concern sending heads to them. They have a pretty decent library of heads now as well.

Yes, they are a bit more money, but I can see what that extra goes to.

Curious for what applications you had them modify the head design?

Hermance has been in the woodworking machinery for well over 100 years.  They are only 45 minutes from where I live in central PA.  They also have a Rockler store and sell Festool.  I bought my original rails from them to use with the recon Makita track saw I bought to see what the fuss about rails and track saws was about.  I bought a lot of my Festools from them over the years.  They sell new and used industrial equipment as well as refurbishing older machines.
