Hi all,
I picked up a new domino xl at the weekend and only realised when I got home it was 240v. Turns out that 110 v is not available for the xl. Trouble is all my other tools are UK spec 110v including my vac. Any thoughts on plugging in a 240 machine into my 110v vac??
Thanks a lot in advance !!
Dave.

Assuming you are serious, then put the vacuum hose onto the machine.
Plug the domino into a 230v outlet.
Turn the vacuum to manual on.
Use the Domino.
When done turn off the vacuum.

I'm in a similar situation as you, in that I have a 240 volt Kapex, but I am in the U.S. and all of my vacs are 120 volts. However, because I am an electrical engineer, I was able to modify my dedicated CT-Mini, plus some external wiring to trigger the vac. Unfortunately, that process is far too complex for most other people to even contemplate.

Your best solution would be to get a Maxsys remote control for your vac. This would allow you to trigger your vac remotely, regardless which tool you used. You can learn more from the link in my signature.

Best solution might be return it for a 230v, or get a 230v vac.
But I like 230v tools.

The remote is a good idea, but his many mortices does one make? In the near term just manually switch it.

Thanks for the feedback!
You're right to assume I am serious.  [smile]
Manually switching the vac on had crossed my mind, but I am looking at how get the auto function working.
I have so many 110 tools that I run off my vac I dont want swap for a new 240 festool vac.

I'll look into the switch idea - thanks Rick for the link!
Thanks both for responding !!

Cheers,
Dave.

You wont be able to safely get the autostart to work ,Ricks remote product is the answer, I have one on both of my vacs and its a godsend
