In trying to keep my promise [http://festoolownersgroup.com/general-friendly-chat/woodworking-and-dyi-goals-for-2019/msg566230/#msg566230] for 2019 I successfully made 3 more cutting boards. I had hoped to make 1 or 2 more, but unfortunately it doesn't look like I'm going to make it before the end of the year.
I had made 2 of the glue ups toward the end of 2018. I basically took all the scraps and just glued them up as best as I could. I again had to apply excess clamping pressure to try to close the gaps as best as possible. That resulted in a bowed glue up and I tried to flatten as best as I could by just sanding with the Rotex.
I started cutting up my glue ups. This time around I was using the waste side of the cut for the keeper piece. I just accounted for the blade kerf and used a combination square to reset the cut each time.

My Woodriver 5 1/2 made quick work of flattening up the sides of each cut strip.

I'm also so stupid! I didn't realize that the first strip needed to be a different type of wood from the last strip - after I cut the the walnut/maple glue up I tried flipping each strip around to alternate the pattern only to realize it's a mirror image of one another!! It took me to this point to realize it. I felt so dumb even trying a few more times to flip them around as if that's going to make a difference.

Rather than screwing actual feet in, I'm trying out these removal feet called Chobs on one of the boards. This will allow both sides of the board to be used.
