Well, I think I'd call it "3D printing in MDF" myself:

There are several advantages to 3DP over CNC:

- additive process generates much less waste ( if any) than subtractive (CNC)

- can print structures that can't be CNC'ed ( internal complex structures, honeycomb supports, etc)
