Just released (not sure where) but knowing what I know about 3m they are going to be good!

Anyone in UK or elsewhere know anything about these sanders?

I like how they are going with "the system approach" all of a sudden.  [big grin] The ad actually is so cheesy! I love the fetools ads, they make me want to work better.

This is the first time I see these new 3M tools. But I know they're all top of the line. How do I know?

Because they're all rebatched Rupes tools, an Italian company which is the standard in automotive tools in Europe.

And the vacuums are made by Starmix , another top of the line producer that makes these vacs for dosens of other brands like Bosch, Metabo, AEG and Hitachi.

Bit strange 3M is taking on Rupes with their own tools. They both cater to the automotive industry, but Rupes with power tools and 3M more with on chemicals based supplies like sandpaper, tape, polishing compounds, putty, and lots more. If 3M now supplies the exact same tools as Rupes, I wonder why peope wouldn't stay with Rupes. I know 3M had a line of sanders before, but never very succesful I believe. Never saw them anywhere.

Dang, I read that as "3 meter" rather than "3M", and was wondering how the thing could be controlled...

that would be cool. it could be like a power float for leveling concrete.
