Wanting to use the side rail on my MFT/3. I have several 5/16" knobs with studs and looking for a source of sliding T-nuts that will slide into the side groove. So far, I have tried the ones from Incra, McMaster Carr, Grainger and they are all too wide to fit the groove. I can get 1/4" T-nuts that will fit but not 5/16". What does work for threaded through hole knobs in 5/16" is the toilet bolts but would like to use the stud type knobs for some things. Any bright ideas???   ???
Thanks. Pete

Plain old regular 5/16 carriage-head bolts work great if you simply some flats on each side of the head.  Just did one up just now and it slides perfectly.

You could make a set of 20 of them in just 5 minutes with a disc sander or handheld grinder and vise.

No need for specialty fasteners.

I'm using a M8 square nut in the side rails which works out perfectly. I have the MFT/3.  I know everyone is talking fractional; however, I do know that McMaster sells Metric Knobs w/ Studs and with many sizes available.

Since I've received some freebies here,  please PM me and I'll give anyone the M8 Square Nuts, 2 each (maybe 4 each), by sending a SASE.  I have about a dozen available.

PeterK is looking for the NUT since he has the STUD (BOLT).  PeterK correct me if I'm wrong.

kdzito is correct!!!  :)
Going to get some 5/16" square nuts to try for fit in the slot.
I purchased some sliding t-nuts but they are too wide for the slot and would be hard to grind down although will give it a try.

Would ordering from festool part number 228689 hexagon nut m6 that fits the track support unit on the MFT/3 work for you. I think it's listed for .70 cents.
