60 degree bevel

Guys and gals,

I need to bevel the edge of an 18mm thick sheet of sapele to 60 degrees (30 degrees from the surface of MFT when I lie the sheet down on the table)

The TS55 will only go to 45 degrees, the Carvex/Kapex won't go that far.

Is there a crafty way to achieve a 60 degree bevel? Or is the answer that I have to take the stock to a local joiner?

make a 30 degree bevel jig and then set the saw at 30 as well.  FYI...I did this for a straight cut (not beveled and the cut was for 62 degrees) but, should work. just an idea...try it first.

Clamp it vertically to a straight workbench edge, cut with TS at 30 degree. You need to use a spacer to protect the bench.

what is the length of the slab and what is the length of the longest rail you have?

It's 30cm across, not a huge piece at all. Rail as in FS guide rail? I have a 1400 and the one up from that

AH! Thank you. Should be able to fix it to the side of the mft with a sacrificial spacer in between, using the festool clamps. Will try this tomorrow. Thank you, the illustration really helped.

Well someone beat me to it.  Clamping it to the front of of the MFT and using a guide rail is where I was going.
