I wanted to put aluminum extrusions on the long sides of my 4/8' workbench to use with many accessories and jigs that I have. As all of them were designed using 1/4-20 hex head bolts I purchased two 8' 15 series 1x2" extrusions from my local 8020 distributed. They assured me that the extrusions would work fine with the 1/4-20 hex bolts. As it turns out, they do not. They only work with 1/4" t-bolt or t-nuts.
I had them send me a sample of the 40 series 8040 lite That seems to work with everything that I had: 1/4" hex & t-bolts, 5/16" hex and t-bolts, 1/4" t-nuts and roll in nuts and the festool clamps.
I will be ordering two 8' lengths of the 4080 lite to replace the 15 series (which, unfortunately, I had already cut to size).
