A damn good Sunday night...

Let me know what you think of the stand please.  I fancy getting one but Guy tells me its like a pensioners zimmer frame  [huh]

F1 fan eh, dont know if the first race is going to happen because of the trouble in Bahrain, bummer.  Who are you rooting for ?

Woodguy.

Sierra Nevada is good but replace it with some Leinekugles 1888 Bock and you'll be all set. [smile]

Festool actually included another $300 wrench.  I think NASA engineered this one...

Instructions, well they were, ummm, what we've come to expect from the boys in green.

aaaaaand she's out of the pacakge (more or less built).

One beer in and the WCR Workcenter 1000 is done.  You just snap on a few hooks (which are actually pretty solid, nothing chincy).  The hooks realllly snug into place, they're not moving anywhere.  Little tiny things like that, some of you might make fun of me, but little stuff, like a hook that you know ain't sliding anywhere, is nice.

The Work Center is nice.  Super simple knob adjustments to slide'er up and down, everything is easily snapped on and off, nothing is cheap, it's actually relatively heavy.  It's not lightweight, plasticy and cheap.  I really like how it feels.  I'll have to bring it back to the store tomorrow and throw it on a 26 that's on the floor.

I think you guys will really actually like this accy.  I like being brutally honest and I'll let you know my thoughts on the Kapex stand, but the WCR is prettttty bad.  Two thumbs up.  It's well made.

Fin....

As for Formula 1, I'm a Lewis Hamilton man.  I'm dying to get down to the Daytona Supercross in a few weeks, I'm a two wheel kinda guy.  I'll be road tripping out to Colorado and stopping to visit a buddy at Duke Law.  Anyone have a place down in Florida that is a supercross fan?

Ohhhh come on.  I knew the beer comments would come fast and quick, but the second post! lol

I've been enjoying a Brooklyn's Chocolate Stout the last few weeks this winter.  BUT, it's a Sunday night, and whatever I could find at the local gas station must suffice.

Sean, you do not know how lucky you are. You can drink any beer want.
I have a gluten allergy.  I can only drink gluten free beers when I can find them & they are hard to find around here..

Can you not order gluten free beers online?

I think I checked into that a couple years ago & including shipping it was around $8.00 a bottle.
At that time I was not going to pay that price for something I had not tasted & I would not pay that price today for the ones I have tasted.

After talking with Rick Bush I decieded to pre-ordered the Workcenter.  His comments pretty much echoed yours about the robustness.  I plan on doing a review of it when it arrives so I'll yet you know what I think...

SO that's why you rushed home today. Yeah, right. "Boiler job."
You just wanted to beat me to the review. Hat's off for getting off the Sunday shift early.
So what's the skinny on it Sean? Thoughts?

Nice build by the way. You probably posted it already but how long to build it?

Jeepers, that'd almost be enough to drive me to drink...wine.  Can you at least drink vodka?  All kidding aside, I'm sorry to hear that, knowing that you're also walking a tightrope with your diet.

Regards,

John

What the...I said "I watched the boiler guy fix the boiler."  I didn't just leave and start drinking and playing with tools!

Took minutes.  Was a let down in that respect if you know what I mean.  I was hoping for some tinkering time.

Guarantee you that you'll let us know I wasn't able to articulate how robust it really is.  It's truly overbuilt, but the weight seems perfectly balanced and is only JUST knocking on the envelope's door of being too much.  It'll be perfect.

LOL.

I know what you mean Sean. but on the plus side, a lot of our customers don;t have an obsession to spend an afternoon enjoying a build the way you and I do!

Enjoy the corn fields of Indiana this week and tell Doug  I said "your welcome" for me letting him go and me watching the store for you guys.

:)
