Clever little gadget.  The Powe8 Workbench.  Far from professional quality but very cute.

Includes a little CMS-like thingy.  Apparently they didn't let the table saw lawyers stop them.  Doesn't seem to have a UL stamp.  It has ETL for Canada and the US among others.

In the video promos they keep showing people crosscutting a board against the fence.  Yikes.  Maybe it simply doesn't have enough power to kick back.  Will it just bind to a stop before it throws anything?  They don't show it ripping anything only crosscuts.  Not enough power?

I like the food processor attachment and the broom head might be quite  usefull. [wink]

Seen that before. It's a good concept, but it's definitely DIY build quality.

Watch the full video, it's quite good. Especially the bit on the drill press, when the table sags under pressure about 3/4"....

yeah seen it before.  I like how its all in one I would say it would be fine for a DIYer  they do give it hammering  and on some other videos they bang it around trying to prove to us that its robust and to me it doesn't seem to bad. Just how long does the battery last and how much power have the motors actually got. Its compact for a little garden shed!  I would say to my girlfriends dad to buy it maybe after I tried and convince him to get Festool.

I may be very mistaken but it looked like in one of the videos there was some sort of 'battery slug' or if you prefer a hard wire module to use in lieu of a battery.  [2cents]

I would say for current Festool owner/users that would potentially amount to a bundle of frustration.  Now, if it were to be made with Festool quality... [smile]

Well put, Ron!  [thumbs up]  I would rather see someone put that money on one good tool, like a Festool, than that little bundle of joy stuff.

It all looks like a disaster waiting to happen and reminds me of the Home Depot tool set for children that I bought for my two year-old recently.

Except the children's set came with safety goggles!

Perhaps a good present for a young (~10 yr. old) aspiring woodworker to have hours of fun with???

I could see someone with a lot of time at the cotage or in an RV buying these, although I suspect with most things only available on the internet or on TV, it's probably a POS.

I also see a lot of women buying these for their man thinking that they are doing everybody a big favour with an economical all-in-one solution, only to find out that it was wasted money later.  I sure as heck would cringe unwrapping one of them.

With that circular saw, that'll surely teach them to stop picking their nose.  [big grin]

Good point, kids shouldn't have anything that could possibly harm them until they are at least 30 years old.  ;D

Unfortunately, the link to the DD video cannot be viewed in Canada.

It gives the following encoded error:

Title: MediaSelector:MediaSelectorError.RESPONSE
Description: regionRestriction

Sorry!  Its the same problem I get when I try and watch programs from USA.  Must be some sort of copy right law thing you cant watch from abroad! Because you dont pay UK TV license lol  [tongue]  Their must be a way to confuse the system to think your from the UK.
