You guys that like a little back cut on your scribe cuts might appreciate this. I made a left and right 10 degree base by cutting two pieces of 3/4 mdf to the desired angle and then contact cemented them to a couple standard base inserts. Switching from perpendicular to bevel is actually faster this way than with most jig saws.

The optional bevel base is of little use for scribing. Your idea is a significant improvement.

Great idea and thanks for sharing. That is one oversight of this saw IMHO. But, a pretty simple fix.

Nice. Just swap the base and no fiddling around with an adjustment setting. Done beveling , swap the base right back to perpendicular.

I like it.

Great idea thank you. I will be doing this when i get a carvex later this year.  [smile]

This would be even better if someone had a 3d printer they could make the whole thing in plastic :)

Ah something else I just spotted , you can't use splinter guards so if you were to design a fully plastic version of this base it would be handy if it still had the nibs to slide on the splinter guards.

UPDATE:  You definitely want to use a 105mm blade with these bevel bases... you can get away with the shorter 75mm in 3/4 stock but just barely. A shallower bevel on the base would help some with depth of cut but i chose a 10deg. bevel as a happy medium based on what i've set my previous jigsaws for scribing.
