longtime lurker, first time poster.
I am considering dabbling in laminating.
I'd like to build something along the lines of the attached chair. (build out of ten pieces of laminated hardwood - mahogany or lauan - the stand alone piece in the pic).
interconnect them with 14mm domino's.
my questions:
would this work or am i gonna waste a lot of time on a chair that is prone to tipping forward or that breaks in two pieces when i put my not too skinny derrière on it? (intended size of the laminate: 50*50 mm, rounded edges r10 - or bigger if i can get my hands on a bigger roundover bit)
or would the laminates that cross over at 90 degrees several times make it look rather ugly?
polyurethane glue or titebond iii?
oh yes, the wood choice, i live in a rather desolated area of the Philippines and that's about it that we can get decently...
many thanks in advance.
