Hello all. Currently sanding down a door that has paper backed veneer on it and having trouble.

It is paper backed veneer glued with West System epoxy over baltic birch. I've started with 60 grit Rubin since it is what I have on hand and as soon as I get down to the paper it just starts clogging up and going nowhere. I've used 4 or 5 discs on about a third of the door and not down to the substrate yet. I'm using a Rotex 150.

Would 40 grit Granat do any better or do I need to try something else? Any suggestions please?

Rubin won't handle any finish without clogging in my experience. [ Not its fault, it's not meant for that type of sanding]
If there is Glue, Paint, Clear Film finish etc, I reach for Granat , or sometimes Saphir if the sanding is HD.  You may not want to start with 40 grit if the Veneer is thin. 60 or 80 might be safer unless you really are removing all that glue and Veneer.

I'll give the granat a shot. I do need to get down all the way to clean baltic birch but can order 40, 60, and 80 and see what works best- I'm sure I'll use them all at some point on some job.
