Hi guys

Planning on buying the carvex psc 400 eb second hand £245. 2 batts 18v, charger, systainer and a few accessories.  I love my midi and Ts55 and I'm hooked already! I also cordless kit, but not hearing great things about the 400. Should I stay away from it? Comes with 2 and 1/2 years warranty still on the tool.

I'll be using it for scribing in panels and the like. Much needed help please, deal goes down tomorrow. Should I back out?

Cheers all

Whatever you do, make the effort to get the PSC 420. It is a far better machine, is popular and has proved itself to be worthy of the Festool name. £289 brand new from Toolfest.

With two 18v batteries?

Only reason for 400 is I thought it was a good deal? It's second hand as previously mentioned. Not a lot of choice.

Stay away from the 400. You're setting yourself up for trouble, no matter how good the deal is. Get the 420. If Festool replaces a model within a year you can guarantee there was something seriously wrong.

I've had a cordless 400 and it never cut straight - the blade guide design just didn't work on the 400 and was subsequently 'fixed' in the 420 by reintroducing the Trion blade guide to the Carvex.

I got a PS420 (corded) now and I'm a happy camper with it. Save yourself the trouble and get a 420...
