Aging Rift n quartered white oak

Does anyone have experience with using southerland wells oxidizing agent. I have wide plank quarted n rift sawn white oak floors. I want too darken without using a stain and top coat with tongue oil. The pic is of one coat of potassium dichromate and a few coats of polymerized tongue oil. I love the results . Just worried about the carcinogen causing oxidizer. Is this safe once applied.

Steel wool, vinegar. Google ebonizing wood.

Thanks, Tom I googled the ebonizer and it looks like this will turn the oak almost black. I'm just looking for the aged look.

You can control the tone/depth by application. Mixing in coffee grounds will move the color to brown.
