So just trying to decide on a cordless purchase.  Are the new battery, chargers a year away? Two years?

All opinions welcome and thanks.

Hi
My US colleague [member=57769]TylerC[/member]  will come in on this
rg
Phil

Thanks Phil,  [big grin]

Yes, asking on a weekend, can't expect anyone at Festool USA to be working.  Or I hope everyone is taking the day off anyway.

Cheers, Sam

The new Airstream batteries are currently schedule to become available in North America in mid-2017.

(I had family in town this weekend, so I tried to stay offline. Thanks for your patience.)

Thanks Tyler,

That's what the weekends are supposed to be like.  [unsure]

I can see the new battery system benefiting the cordless track saws for me.  Just not worth the wait.

How about a upgrade promo when they do come out?  [big grin]

[member=57769]TylerC[/member]  Sorry but what is an Airstream battery?  Is it compatible with existing 18 V tools. or will it work only on new tools? A little detail would be helpful.

[member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] thanks for the link.  But is it downward compatible with the current tools ? I would assume so but just checking.

[member=163]vkumar[/member], yes, they will work with all tools compatible with the current 18v batteries.

Because it's not available in North America yet, our team honestly doesn't have much more information than what's publicly available. (See the video that [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] shared.) We'll start talking about it more next year.

For now, we're focusing on HK/HKC, DWC Drywall Gun and SysLight DUO!
