Another sander slowing dying

About a year ago my loved ETS125 started getting hot when I was using it and then it finally died, out of warranty of course and forced me to go out and purchase another one. Now my DTS400 is starting to heat up and I know it's days are numbered. I hope I can get through this project before it bites the dust. I have a lot of festool tools and love everyone of them, but I get concerned when I get 2 sanders that need to be replaced after 3+ years of use. I find myself now looking for an alternate brand as I am tired of paying a premium for a so called high quality sander when they don't last.

Frustrated,
JC

I don't blame you one bit...that would bum me out too...not supposed to work that way

The only issue I have is that the DTS400 is a great sander to get in the corners, especially if you are sanding drawer boxes and cabinet doors. Haven't been able to find a replacement yet, but I will keep looking.
Cheers,
JC

Not that it should be this way, but at least the DTS 400 REQ is only a $260 USD sander and not as expensive as say the ETS EC 150.

Sanders see a lot of hours & wear out. The great thing about festool is they service them. My 10 year old Rotex is on it's fourth set of brushes and has been into Festool twice for repair. The last time being a pretty major overhaul.
