Just finished prepping our kitchen and breakfast room today for new wallpaper. The old paper stripped pretty well yesterday, but with some patching of wall board and other minor repairs needed, particularly behind the fridge. The contractor, a very experienced guy, used my new CT 33 and ES125 today to sand down the walls prior to applying primer. He was a bit dubious about the dust collection claims, but really curious to try the system. We did tape all the cabinets and install a plastic wall to separate the area from the rest of the house, just in case.
The result. It took less than an hour to sand down all the walls, using Brilliant 2 P-180. No visible dust, including either on his forearms or on the high shine new granite countertops installed last week. Basically no cleanup afterwards required.
The contractor said that with a normal random orbital sander, the room and air would have been full of dust, and that respirators would have been required. You could feel the walls before and after sanding and easily notice the old paste that was being removed. He was highly impressed.
He'll be ordering his own Festools soon. Said it will make a big difference in his work. I gave him Bob's info.
