I have the antistatic 36mm hose, but it seems stiff and heavy.  Is the non-antistatic 36mm hose any lighter and more flexible? Also, does it come with the tool adapter?

The answer is yes and yes.

The gray, non-antistatic hoses are more flexible, slightly lighter, and aren't as stiff.

As Tom said, yes and yes.  I traded my 36mm Anti-Static hose with another FOG member for a Non-Anti-Static hose.

damn i just ordered the 36mm antistatic hose hope i dont regret it as its an expensive mistake!

I sold all my anti static hoses which came with festool vacs straight away I don't like the anti static hoses.

I replaced them with non anti static ones far better!!!

grrrr! i dont have a problem with the 27mm version, is the 36 a lot worse to handle? i was thinking i might get the hose holder?...

the metal rod thing with the coil on the end, it plugs into the top of the ct and supports the hose a bit

This is the hose holder as mentioned:  [attachimg=#]

I have to say that this little accessory is awesome!  At first it seems like what, $xx.xx for a piece of bent metal, but I think it pays for itself the first time you use it.  Plus, it keeps the hose at the right height to the MFT/3 -- it is money well spent IMHO.  I love the Anti-static hoses...cannot envision buying a non-antistatic one as I used to always get zapped in my pre-Festool days.  No more shocks since switching.

Funny, I've never felt like the stiffness of the anti-static hoses were a problem for me.

If I only owned AS hoses I might never have given it a second thought. I own both and compare and contrast when I (frustratingly) switch on my midi. Thats a separate complaint. But the Non AS hose is much easier to work with, store and handle.

Not a deal breaker, but I like the non AS for my table saw and Kapex and anything in between. Unless it's a sanding application.
