Nat X said:Amazing that there are really people in the world who don't realize that Amazon loses money on most sales.
Snark aside, Amazon does not lose money on most products they sell. Aside from a small number of loss-leader products, their retail business turns a net profit.
You may have been confused by the fact that their net profits are very low or have been net negative in the past. That's not because Jeff Bezos has been happily subsidizing people's purchases for the past 12 years. It's because they've poured their profits back in to growing the company. Amazon could have flipped the switch and been incredibly profitable long ago had they decided to stop growing, but that's not a good business decision.
But no, common sense dictates that Amazon doesn't "lose money on most sales"
Anyway, 2-day shipping on products through Amazon has been great for me. They also have top-notch customer service.
FestoolProducts.com has also been quite good to me with their generous free shipping offer. I've received some packages in two days and others in over a week, though, depending on how busy the carriers are at the time.
FestoolProducts.com was more attractive when they had the cashback deal going on, but that seems to have ended recently. Now it's hard to justify picking them over Amazon when I need something ASAP.
