Any pre-April 1st last minute shopping?

First, I must say that I'm pretty impressed that Festool has given us a head up on the upcoming price increase.  Not many companies will go out of their ways to warn people that the prices of their products are going up.

So, just wondering, has any of you been doing some last minute buying before the April 1 price increase?

For me, the new prices have encouraged me to buy a router and a Carvex (and accessories) that I knew I was going to buy anyway in the upcoming months.  Here is what I ordered:

Carvex PSB 420
Carvex Accessories Systainer
35-Piece Jigsaw Blade Assortment
OF 1400
Small Bore Base
Guide Stop
Edge Guide
Table Widener
Clamping Elements

I know I'm not the only one doing last minute shopping because other than the Clamping Elements and the 35-Piece Jigsaw Blade Assortment, everything else is on back order at Lee Valley  [big grin]

Bought a TS55 and ordered an MFT/3 yesterday. A little sooner than I planned but the bank interest is so low it is a savings to spend the money now.

I sprung for the Domino DF500 and CT 26, like others I planned on getting this in the upcoming months, but did it earlier then planned to beat the increase. Would have liked to have gotten a few other things too but couldn't take the full deluge right away. The Canadian price increase is a little more intense then the USA one so that pushed me a little harder.

What I'd like to know is if there will be any new product announcements tomorrow along with the price increase.

I'm holding on an order with my Germany dealer for a BHC Drill, TSC55, PDC drill, and a Conturo Edge Bander if none of these are announced.  (The Conturo would require a step up transformer, but the rest are standard 18V. I'd just have to sell the chargers to someone in Europe).  We'll see, I guess.

In the meantime, I bought the following prior to the price increase:
TS55 REQ
MFT/3
OF 1400
RO90
Surfix Set
EHL 65 (New but discontinued)
T 18+3

Cheers,

Frank

Carvex PSB 420
Carvex Accessary Systainer
RO 90 w/Granat Abrasive assortment
ETS 150/3 w/Granat Abrasive assortment
WCR-1000
CT 26 Boom Arm Set
Parallel Guide Set

I too have helped a couple of dealers 1st Q sales! A couple of sanders and some sandpaper. I was going to buy the Sysport 500's, but their prices drop tomorrow!!

I assume people (at least in the USA) buying the Carvex ahead of April 1 were just looking for an excuse to buy, since the price isn't rising.

I'm looking to buy the ct26 but have a fein vacuum already. Not the hepa version. I'm stuck. Should I buy the hepa filter for the fein or go all out and buy the ct26? Convince me!!

I haven't checked so I can't tell you if by adding the HEPA filter to the Fein that the entire UNIT then becomes a HEPA rated unit.  The Festool CTs are HEPA rated for the entire unit which is different.

I upgraded my 2 week old CT26 to a package deal with the RO150, which is b.o. at Lee Valley with ETA of May 5 or as we say in spanish: Cinco de Mayo.

Planex and 36 AC with accessories. Couldn't afford them during the sale but finally (almost) could, so went for it.

MFK 700 Set and the edge trim cutter (491666) here.

The MFK 700 Set is going down $25 on April 1st  [doh]

Not going down in Canada, where mikeneron is from.  It is actually going up $15!!

I finally have an excuse for getting the Domino XL and associated accessories. No, not the price increase, but it noticed I need to replace my garage doors and the cost of a new set is in excess of what the domino package will cost, so how could I pass up the savings???

Yes like other Canucks nice that Festool made us all aware of upcoming increases...Never thought I'd appreciate the falling Canadian dollar, but like others pushed me to get the items I have been sitting on the fence waiting to buy......I will have more fun in the shop because of it....lol

My "Prices are rising....save now list" (purchased the following cause of the increases in Canada)

Kapex
CT36
Domino 500
Domino assortment with systainer
LR32 55 rail
LR32 Kit
RS2E
ETS 125
DTS 400
Anti Static 36mm 5m hose

Like my wife always says.....I was going to buy it anyway...just got lucky it was on sale.....lol...I figure I saved 5-600 dollars....

With the current Festool Famine in Canada, having to wait on a few of my purchases to arrive....that's ok as it will give me time to learn about the tools I brought home before the others arrive...

Like others, also have a fairly big list with Lee Valley for sandpaper and other accessories, need to make sure I put the orders in tonight to take advantage of free shipping....once again most of the stuff I want is on backorder.....ol

So thank you Festool for the heads up.......not too many companies would do that!!

Greg.
