Any pre-April 1st last minute shopping?

Kapex
Domino 500
MFT/3
A few clamps

The price increase was only the excuse to continue my addiction.

What other company could raise prices every year, and have it turn into a huge buying spree period by the faithful?

Instead of "What, they're raising the prices!!??%$#&%", it's become like xmas shopping season, with happy customers pleased with their good deals.

ETS 125 and a second CT 36--tired of wheeling the dust extractor all around the shop.  Plus it's tough to make a quick cut on the Kapex when the the dust extractor is on the other side of the room.

I ended up getting a Kapex, CT36, 7m 36mm hose, and an OF1400.  I really wanted to get a domino but I'll guess I just wait to right before the next price increase and buy it and maybe a RO 90, and a .....

Caught the bug right after Xmas, fixed it with a TS75 and CT36.  It flared up again ...and I just got the RO150 and ordered the Kapex tonight.  Has anybody heard the Kapex ship date from Woodcraft?  It was BO, and that stinks!

Also, this is my first post and I just have to say I really enjoy reading everyone's experiences, opinions, and expertise on this site.  I'm an amateur hobbyist, and I find this forum very helpful.  This hobby is as expensive as my other one- golf.

I added a Domino to my order from last week specifically because of the price increase. I know the increase was only $25, but hey - that's $25 I could use for something else that's green!

Not to be rude, you are to the point of a ct and boom arm! Nice line up. I bought a XL, 1010, 55, and hole set.

I don't see that you are being rude at all. I need to look into a boom arm, just as soon as I finish getting the shop useable again...and build some kind of MFT.

I ended up mounting my boom arm against the wall until I picked up my second vac. Kind of weird, but it freed up the vac for mobile use.

So after much pondering, I went and bought a Domino XL 700 and the Domino Systainer Assortment along with the all the bit cutters. That I definitely wanted and ate up a $1,000 Cyber Monday gift card I bought last December for $850  (Thanks LV, that was sweet!). What a price difference. Not counting the $150 I saved with the gift card, I saved $240.

Then I'd been pondering getting a Kapex and still not sure I wanted to pull the trigger on that one. I'm still struggling with this one but since LV has them on back order until early May and if I order it from the website I don't get my card charged until they actually ship it, I ordered it along with the CT 36 Auto-Clean. I think I'd be saving about $300 on that and now I have some time to ponder further and simply cancel the order by that time should I decide against it, but I'll likely get it at this point now. You start playing with it and its features, despite the price it is hard to resist getting one. and the time for me to get one would be now or never for the Kapex.

Got a wicked amount of use for it this summer in the backyard. My old Craftsman miter is showing its age and I need good dust extraction for when I'm cutting Ipe. Apparently Ipe is a real nasty wood not only in hardness but moreso with how toxic/dangerous the dust is from it from getting on your skin or in your lungs. I know I'll definitely want to add a Planex one day for the CT36AC for when I redo the basement in a couple of years and wish I would have taken advantage of the 10% off the Planex in Feb of this year but buying something I know I won't use for another couple of years is hard to justify. If you calc how much more you pay now for the Planex versus the sale price, it's just under 25% more. Ouch! Maybe the price spread with US and Canadian prices will change by then, although I doubt that.

Hey, all,

Long time lurker, first time poster here.

I had about $2K of stuff riding around in my cart for quite some time over at Bob Marino's website.  Was just waiting on my tax return to drop the hammer on my first order of Festool gear.  Money came but I was sitting on it, not really sure of what to do.  The April 1 price increase proved to be the stick that poked me off of the fence I was sitting on.

Tax money turned out to be neither here nor there, since in the meantime I got a credit card offer for 18 months 0% interest on new purchases.  If I can't afford $100 and change once a month for a while, I best not even think about Festool, right?

Anyhow, I ordered the OF1400 + Midi combo, which Bob tells me has shipped today, as well as the TS55REQ + MFT/3 combo, which is apparently on back order until the 4th.

Provided I like what I get, and I can't imagine why I won't, I'm looking at the parallel guides for my next purchase.  Possibly a sander and a jigsaw of some sort down the road.  Gonna need another guide rail, guide rail connectors, a guide rail deflector, some clamps... My Holy Grail will be a Domino, I imagine, sometime in the distant future.

So, that feeling underfoot must be that slippery slope everyone has been talking about?

First,  [welcome]

And yes on the slope - it's slicker than snot on a brass doorknob!

Good start, Challenger!  I always try to buy a combo when it makes sense to save $.  The ETS125 or DTS400 are good places to start for finish sanders.  Both are reasonably priced, by Festool standards.  You will be amazed at how much less dust gets away from those sanders!  I regularly wear black pants when sanding, and almost no dust gets on them.
