I got mine in my email. Short but axed some very telling questions.

Just curious who,  if anyone else got one?

Ya, got mine...haven't responded to it yet, it'll be interesting to see what they're asking.  [big grin]  What I really mean is it will be interesting to read between the lines.  [scratch chin]

The last one I received was the survey on impact wrenches a few years back.

It’s mostly how you prioritize various characteristics of power tools and how you rate Festool compared to the other major brands.

Yep,
And I agree,some interesting questions .
Seems the other tool companies are applying some pressure .

Me 2. Was mostly about how you compare Festool to the brands DeWalt, Makita and Milwaukee on traits like durability and portability, and a few more I forgot.

I did the survey also, thought the questions interesting.  I don't use DeWalt aside from the batteries for my Graco cordess sprayer.  I use Milwaukee 12 & 18v, Metabo, Fein and Festool platforms.  My Festools are like my wife's Audi TT Quattro and the our Toyota 4Runner.  One's not really comparable to the other.

I got it. Looks like trying to expand some sponsors also.

I was thinking they were trying to determine which sponsors people were actually watching. Of that lot, I only really watch Scott Brown Carpentry.

Others listed want ya to pay using patreon (sp) to watch then do anything.

Which I refuse to.

I noticed they also axed who do we Do watch.

So maye they are going to can some of the ones not being watched and add the ones that are.

For those who are curious about what the survey actually asked, here it is.

It was kind of goofy for me because the only Dewalt I own is a planer, the only Bosch I own is a table saw and I don't own any Makita tools.  [eek]  So I really don't know how much value this survey provides Festool.

I did respond to the survey but for me not much overlap in brands for similar tools so difficult to compare one over another in the categories they requested opinions on.

Didn't get the survey,  most make sense, the part that "i like" is how when they list attributes of the competitors they left off cost/price.  Clearly they didn't want their data messed up with the result showing no matter what Festool does, the solutions that cost a fraction as much do the job just fine.

I also have little overlap as a Kapex and CT26 are my only Festools and I have DeWalt cordless and a broad mix of corded tools including DW, PC, Makita, Milwaukee and Bosch.  So responding to the survey was a bit of an exercise in nebulosity.

I suspect you’re exactly who they’re secretly looking for.  Core customers that validate their strategy and plans.  Especially because you’re 20 years old  [wink]. That’s gotta be their growth market.

I think they’ll get the message.  If , respondents’ answers bear that out.

Which isn’t a slam dunk.

My armchair QB’s assessment is they are looking to see how their market has changed recently from older to younger, and if their strategy to peddle to them has worked.  They also want to know which YToober  captures the core customer’s attention. YT will tell you who’s popular by views, but it won’t tell you if it’s someone like Cheese viewing; or a little old lady from Pasadena.  They also seem to be interested whether or not Milwaukee and DeWalt are making inroads with their box systems.
