Anyone else seeing a run on Systainer ³ s?

There seems to be a mini-run on Systainer³s, or Festool isn't refilling the pipeline.

My local dealer, who always had plenty in stock, now has large empty spaces on their shelves. They said someone came in and bought three SYS-RBs, two SYS3 ORG M 89 22xESBs, two SYS3 ORG M 89 - 6xESBs, two SYS3 ORG L 89 10xESBs, two Systainer³ M 237s, a Systainer³ M 337 and three SYS3-SORT/3 M 337 three drawer boxes.

Meanwhile, every Festool dealer I've checked is suddenly sold out of the SYS3-SORT/2 M 337 two-drawer boxes, including one I know that had been sitting at my local Woodcraft for about six months.

I know I switched a lot of things from PACKOUTs to Systainers last summer and spent about $1000 to do so, but this is just wild, unless Festool/TANOS are switching to a new design and have stopped replenishing product.

The US Systainer Store has plenty of Systainer³s, it's only the Festool Systainers that seem to be selling out.

There have been rumors (I have not substantiated) that there is a supply chain issue with some Festool products. Perhaps, if that is true, Systainers are also affected?

There's something - whether it's an issue at Festool, TANOS or elsewhere.

The US store has lots of supply, but those are always in colors other than those Festool uses, so it would make sense if TANOS can't make any more for Festool for some reason. (For example, if they are having issues sourcing the Festool-only green for the T-Loks and printed onto the extruded "Festool" logo.)

The European Festool division responsible for distributing product outside of at least Germany, possibly the EU, updated to Windows 11 in December and it bricked their labelling/consignment system. It’s still on-going.

We can’t get batteries in the UK anywhere since Jan, and sandpaper is running dry too. Forget about spare parts.

I assume the same consignment distribution system also handles US-bound product.

I guess there is a migration to SUSE on the cards for those systems. LOL.

Who woulda thunk it!

Aside from not very old laptops that don't support TPM2.0 so can't upgrade and effectively are bricks once the extended security updates for Win10 run out, there's been quite a backlash over Win11 problems globally, not one of MS's most popular releases.

Copilot especially seems to be the new even more annoying version of Clippy!

I asked my dealer to order me some Granat PROfile D150 mixed packs and after talking to Festool, he says it looks like they will arrive in June. Must be why. Good thing I'm not pressed for them!

What is going on with Systainer Store versus Festool? Systainer store's Systainers used to be a bit cheaper than the Festool branded versions. Now, Festool is cheaper. Take the MFT: Festool $80, Tanos $90. Even the Sortainer is cheaper at $139 from Festool and $155 from Tanos. What gives, @Sys_Tim ?

I did get some mails from them that they were updating some software and there was a planned 1-week downtime. I thought it was the ERP system, not so much W10 to W11.

Windows 11 is pretty much junk. It really doesn't add anything useful. I hope at some point the big bucks institutions pull the plug on AI and the software guys return to fixing problems instead of adding new ones.

Windows 11 can't even have double height or vertical taskbar (without 3rd party software at least) ... like XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 all could. Don't remember if 98 etc. could do that too, but I guess yes.

The prices have been that way since Festool's price drops late last year.

I suspect, but do not know, that Festool dropped their prices to clear their warehouses to a point below that of what it costs for TANOS to make them and send them to the US store.

In Europe, TANOS is normally more expensive than Festool since .. like forever. That and their retail presence is miniscule to begin. I think SYS Tim did a great job in US which was helped by high Festool prices that gave him some manoeuvre space.

IMO this makes sense - with Festool (Mafell, Fein, Makita..) the customer is acting like a "free" billboard for the brand whereas there is no such "issue" with the TANOS branded kit. TANOS is the "premium" no Ads version in that context.
