Anyone have a KREG Systainer Set-up??

Hey Frank!

Here's a few photos of my Kreg-in-a-stainer!  I contemplated doing the pluck foam or Kaizen, but then I'm losing storage volume. Everything fits fine, rides in the back of my truck without damage and allows me to have everything that I need with me in one box!

If these images are too large, please let me know so I can resize!  Tapatalk is offering size upload options, so now I have choices...

That is a Tanos Sys 2 Attic in anthracite!  You just have to make sure the attic is locked before you reach in to the main compartment...I'll help you avoid my mistakes!  Lol

Heres my setup in a sys3 with kaizen foam to keep everything in it's place.

Amazing how Dave's stuff defies gravity when installed in the anti-gravitational Kaizen foam.  Kaizen!

Yes.  If you call up the Tool Nut, Sean will answer the phone, "Kaizen!" and then proceed to talk with you.  That might give you a better feel for understanding the way of the foam.

Dave cuts it with the foam floating in the air while on his back.  He finds it easier than hovering over the floating foam.

I have the Kreg tool box they sold for awhile it all fits in and has lots of space for screws.

The only thing I don't like is that it won't stack with all my systainers.

I wish that Tanos would work with other tool companies and get them into systainers!

Cheers,
Steve

Dave, how do you cut the Kaizen?

Hey Bob!  I'll jump in with my own response as I've started using Kaizen foam to keep things in their place in drawers, etc.  It cuts quite easily with a razor blade.  I started by outlining things with a marker and then cutting, now I generally just put the object on the foam and cut right around it.  then I progressively peel away the layers until I get to the right depth.  I have 2 large pieces of the 57mm foam which sometimes can be too thick in a drawer.  Simple solution - it is very easy to rip it down to a narrower thickness using the bandsaw!  It turns out perfectly that way.  And you can extract 2 or 3 times as much utility from the single piece.

Peace, bro.

Thanks brother B!

On a side note, are you going to Toolnut demo day?  U can pm me...just thought I'd ask here since you popped up!

I just put my Kreg jig into one of my spare sys 1 box cases you know the one with coloured boxes. I just removed a few to leave room for a clamp.

Hrrm.. I'm getting intrigued by this Kaizen foam.

Anyone recommend sources for it?  Is there a particular buyable size that is ideal for Systainer uses?  (specifically Classic Systainers)

NEVERMIND--  A 3 second Google search reveals that they sell this stuff via Rockler and Amazon and directly from FastCap.  2' x 4' sheets for $10-$20  Wheeee!

I may just do that!  I've already seen the Big Domino in action out at the Indiana class, but I might cruise up there to meet you and inevitably lighten up my wallet a bit.  Let's coordinate next week when it gets closer.  - Brian

Sals pants may be pink, but mine are high waters!  As long as those Swedes have em sewn up and shipped, I'll have em on!
