Good Morning,
Who's planning on traveling to Vegas for the 2009 AWFS gathering?

If you're going, please take photos of the Festool area -- the tools, the people, and more.  We try to have photos of this event in the FOG gallery, and a story or two in our forum discussions.

Let us know!

Thanks,
Matthew

I'll be there -- will take my camera.  Question though, 1st time at AWFS (but not at trade shows...) how do exhibitors feel about pictures being taken by non-press???

A good question. Usually cameras are not permitted but a lot of point and shoots are on the floor. If you plan to shoot just at the Festool booth, get their permision and shoot away. It is the walking the floor that they do not want cameras. And there is a press room to get badges which allows you to shoot. That is genrally for the video people who are submitting footage to their pubs. Forget flash -- that only draws attention to you. Some demonstrators get ruffled by it.

Good Morning,
Yes, that's right, I remember now that cameras are frowned upon if you are just a wanderer.  And the flash is always annoying.

But all you have to do is ask the people at the booth if you can take a photo and you'll be fine.  If you are from the FOG, people at the Festool booth will be more than happy to let you take shots.  I took many shots this way at AWFS, of Festool and other vendors.  It's like everything else in life: get to know people and things change.

If you want to see past photos, browse the "Woodworking Events" area of the FOG Gallery ---> CLICK HERE.

Thanks,
Matthew
